Objects fascinate me: their form, function, and the value we place on them. I have a meticulous interest in the mundane, the detritus, and the castaway objects of the world. I collect these objects from periods in my life and turn them into documents of my experiences. In my work, I seek a balance between the accurate depiction of a moment in time and the potential monumental and iconic quality of the ordinary object itself.
My paintings and assemblages are autobiographical in nature. They are totems commemorating a family history of saving, keeping, hoarding, and procrastinating where objects equal memories, everything has value, and nothing should be discarded.
